SNF Bioethics Academy offers intensive course on Ethics in the time of COVID-19
Oct 25, 2021
In addition to creating a health crisis, COVID-19 amped up the difficulty of prickly ethical questions we already faced. How do limited medical resources get distributed? How do we design public health policies that are fair and effective?
The second annual Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Bioethics Academy, following a pandemic-prompted delay, seeks to help participants weigh questions like these. The intensive three-day course will take place at the beginning of November, and will also include a performance and discussion led by Theater of War Productions.
Launched in 2019 with exclusive support from SNF, the Academy aims to expand awareness of bioethics in Greece and is organized through a partnership between the Berman Institute of Bioethics at Johns Hopkins University and the Bioethics Chair at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH). The intensive course will be co-directed by Professors Jeffrey Kahn, the Andreas C. Dracopoulos Director of the Berman Institute, and Effy Vayena, Head of the Health Ethics and Policy Lab at ETH.
