Newest Season of MetLiveArts Will Activate Museum Spaces with Site-Specific Works

The iconic Temple of Dendur will host the world premiere of a haunting choral work celebrating the reopening of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, destroyed in the 9/11 attacks. A new Artist in Residence will bring the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s galleries to life with original dance works.
Objects from the museum’s collection anchor musical performances, as Man with a Guitar by Pablo Picasso will for Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments by his friend Igor Stravinsky.

A recent major grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) created the SNF Live Arts Endowment, which will help MetLiveArts offer this sort of programming in perpetuity.
