Sep 11, 2018
On Monday, September 10th, 2018, as part of this year’s Thessaloniki International Fair, Rutgers University–New Brunswick organized an event for the presentation of the project “New Agriculture for a New Generation”, which is made possible through the exclusive support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

The program aims to help revitalize one of Greece’s most critical sectors, that of agriculture, by training and developing a new generation of farmers and inspiring agriculture and food entrepreneurs. The innovative three-year project is led by Rutgers University, in partnership with the Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) and American Farm School (AFS).

In its first year of operation, 700 young people have already participated in the program in 30 areas across Northern Greece.

The “New Agriculture for a New Generation” project is made possible through a $27,477,000 grant by SNF, as part of its “Recharging The Youth” initiative which aims to open-up employment opportunities for the younger generation in Greece.
