Bestselling author and Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Director of the Oxford Centre for Byzantine Research Peter Frankopan will deepen and nuance our understanding of the relationship between ancient Greece and the wider world in an upcoming livestreamed talk, the second in a series of three.
The lectures touch on themes including, warfare, gender, inequality, climate change, and pandemic.
Greece: Legacies will take place Wednesday, March 16 in Washington, DC, and will be streamed live at 6 p.m. EDT. The series, which seeks to reexamine Greece in the context of Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, will continue with a final talk in New York City in May 2022.
The lecture is organized by the American School of Classical Studies at Athens and the Gennadius Library, where SNF has supported the advancement of scholarship in classics.
