Oct 25, 2017
Next stop, the St. Eirini’s Square! The Municipality of Athens continues a series of interventions to upgrade and enhance the functional and aesthetic aspects of the Athens Commercial Triangle area.

On Thursday, October 26th, 2017, the Municipality of Athens removes parked vehicles from the area near the Square, defines the area that is lawfully occupied by the stores, cleans the square, the compound, as well as the facades of buildings on the streets of Vasilikis, Libona and Skouze.

The program for the Revitalization of the Athens Commercial Triangle is implemented through the exclusive support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), as part of the €10 million grant that has been allocated to the Municipality of Athens, in the context of the SNF’s Initiative Against the Greek Crisis. To date, within the framework of the program, 5,600 sq. meters facades of buildings and stores have been cleaned from graffiti and are being currently preserved, four empty buildings have been cleaned and opened their doors to the public, while almost ten pedestrian streets have been created in the center of Athens.

The event to be held on the St. Eirini’s Square will be complemented by music and dance performances, guided tours and fine arts performances.
