The Association of Cancer Patients and Friends of Evros Prefecture Honors the SNF

On Sunday, September 23rd, 2018, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) was awarded by the Association of Cancer Patients and Friends of Evros Prefecture for its long-standing support of the health sector in the area of Evros.
The award ceremony marked the completion of 10 years since the establishment of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Hostel for the patients’ relatives at the General University Hospital of Alexandroupolis, which was made possible with a grant by SNF. Most recently, the SNF, as part of its nationwide Radiotherapy Program, supported the procurement of a linear accelerator (linac) in the Hospital of Alexandroupolis. The new linac has already been operational since 2017, providing key radiotherapy treatment for cancer patients in the surrounding areas.
The event took place within the framework of the 10th Panhellenic Meeting of the Associations of Cancer Patients which was held in Alexandroupolis from September 21st to September 24th.
