A total of 50 teams signed up for the competition, organized by the “New Agriculture for a New Generation” program, mobilizing more than 60 representatives of university and educational institutions, as well as the business people, professionals, and investors who participated in the evaluation committees. A significant percentage of the participants took part in a training bootcamp for developing and presenting a business plan, leading to the emergence of the 10 finalists. The winners took home cash prizes and will join a one-year business development program.
The “New Agriculture for a New Generation” Program is being supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) for a period of three years, as part of the SNF’s Recharging the Youth Initiative in Greece, totaling €100 million. The aim of the Initiative is to create employment opportunities and reduce youth unemployment in Greece, utilizing the younger generations’ vision and potential to innovate.
