Smartphones have meant more opportunity to connect with each other and frictionless access to information—but also, of course, more distraction, less privacy, less quality time with our loved ones, and constant implicit comparison with the apparently ideal lives of others. What’s the impact on our lives and, to an even greater degree, on the lives of today’s teenagers, the ultimate social media generation?
It is around this question that the plot of After the Party unfolds on the Youth Stage at the National Theatre of Greece. The play, which deals with an incident of cyberbullying, was written by Maria Zavakou and directed by Yolanda Markopoulou and opens on November 5 at the Rex Theatre.
We are excited to support the production of After the Party, which focuses on such an important and timely issue. Youth mental health has been one of the key pillars of our work in recent years, particularly through the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Initiative.
