2021 was a special year for all of us at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) as we celebrated 25 years of grantmaking. We have grown in both numbers and experience during over the years, taking action to help meet growing needs and challenges. Our partnerships have gradually expanded to hundreds of countries around the world, as has—we hope—the positive impact of our work.
All this time, our values have remained the same. Our vision is to try to contribute to the common good as much as we can. Through collaboration with nonprofit organizations around the globe, and with full transparency, we always strive to strengthen access for as many people as possible to what’s fundamental in life, including health, culture, and education.
These constant values have guided us through changing circumstances, and we inevitably change with them. Change does not scare us; we see it as an opportunity. We hold on to our values and we grow. We move forward.
We continue our work in Greece, where we have our roots, but we do not hold it separate from our work around the world. Our mission is unified and indivisible, empowering humanity, wherever humans live.
