Another Distinction for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center

More than two years after its completion and delivery to the Greek people, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) continues to garner international distinctions for the quality of its design and construction.
In early October 2019, it was awarded the Βuilding Award for Excellence in Ongoing Building Commissioning 2019 by the Βuilding Commisioning Association.
The SNFCC has received a number of awards, including the International Excellence Award from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in 2018, 1st Prize in the European Garden Award 2018 / 2019 for the category of Innovative Contemporary Design of a Park or Garden, and the award for Αrts or Entertainment Structures from the Institute of Structural Engineers at the Structural Awards in 2016.
The SNFCC’s design, construction, and full outfitting were supported by the largest single grant made by SNF to date. In February 2017, on the completion of construction, SNF gifted the SNFCC to the people of Greece, announcing its commitment to continue actively supporting the SNFCC through grants totaling up to €50 million for public programming and operational costs.
