This was all part of the Music Beehive, an educational music program promoting social inclusion by El Sistema Greece, implemented with support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), on June 21 and 22 at the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
During this two-day event, students from all of the organization’s branches in Athens and Corinth, musicians from El Sistema Greece’s ensembles, and young people who wanted to participate in the creative process discussed issues that concern them, were inspired by artists from different fields, and created and performed a heartwarming concert, a celebration of acceptance.
This is the second SNF grant supporting the mission of El Sistema Greece. Our first collaboration took place under the SNF - Release Athens grants as part of SNF Nostos 2023, which focused on mental health and supported El Sistema’s programming, including a music training program and a summer camp.
