For the 8th consecutive year, 450 children from 11 remote islands, such as Agios Efstratios, Kasos, Kastelorizo and Psara, had the opportunity to participate in safe swimming lessons, sports activities, games and experiments through the Sports Paths program.
The Schoolwave music groups "walked" with us on the Sports Paths with their music training workshop, while during the closing ceremonies of the program on the islands of Nisyros and Astypalaia, they gave a spectacular music concert! The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre (SNFCC) also made an important contribution with the realization of visual robotics programs and experiments.
The Safe Water Sports (SWS) was also a co-sponsor for another year. The company was enriched by the Homo Ludens Filmmaking student group that presented a filmmaking workshop, while the closing ceremony in Fournoi and Lipsi was accompanied by the dancers of the La Timba group!
The legendary Bakotterma was also not missing from the Sports Paths 2023. 64 teams with more than 300 young football fans rushed to participate in the 128-match tournament.
The program Sport Paths has been established since 2015 and implemented by Sports Excellence | Department of Sports Excellence and the non-profit "Regeneration & Progress", is conducted under the scientific supervision of the 1st Orthopaedic Clinic of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with an exclusive donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
