The grant supports capital funding of the New York Aquarium.
The mission of WCS is to defend, protect, study, and save animals and habitats in New York and around the world. In New York City, the Society operates the Bronx Zoo/Wildlife Conservation Park; the Aquarium for Wildlife Conservation in Coney Island, Brooklyn; and the Queens, Central Park, and Prospect Park Wildlife Centers. In addition to these centers, the Society operates more than 270 field conservation projects in 50 countries; runs environmental education programs; and conducts research on wildlife breeding, health, nutrition, and genetics.
