University of Cambridge

Program support
For support of the Greek linguistic technology project, whose goal is to promote and facilitate the study of Greek through the medium of print and the Internet.  The lexicon being developed will offer access to a body of material, including the most familiar vocabulary of ancient Greek, that has never previously been analyzed based on systematic principles. The resulting product will be valuable to readers of all levels, from students to scholars, and will help lay the foundations for future lexicography.

The origins of the University of Cambridge date to 1209, when scholars and students at the University of Oxford fled that institution due to conflicts between local residents and the academic community and subsequently settled in Cambridge to continue their scholarly pursuits. The University has a long and distinguished record of providing high caliber instruction to students from around the world and conducting first-rate research across a wide spectrum of disciplines.
