Museum of Archaeology and History of Art – Program support

For the design and implementation of an educational program “Acquaintance with the Environment of the Past: Cities, Animals and People” for school students ages 8-14.

The program used the exhibits of the Museum in an interactive manner and allowed children to understand the close relationship between archaeology and the environment.  The exhibit teaches how life was organized in the ancient and medieval world and depicts ancient professions.  By viewing the exhibit children can appreciate artistic creation and urban models of the past.

The Museum of Archaeology and History of Art at the University of Athens was established as a treasury of various collections that were donated to the University by other museums and private collectors in 1941. It has been housed in its present premises, within the University Campus, since 1994.  The Museum operates on a daily basis and maintains twelve collections distinguished by their educational character.
