The grant supports the creation, development and touring of three plays taking their inspiration from the Greek mythology. My Father Odysseus inspired from Homer's epic "The Odyssey" and aimed at 11 to 13 year olds, the Minotaur, retelling of the Greek myth "Theseus and the Minotaur" and aimed at 7 to 8 year olds and My Mother Medea aimed at a teenage audience. The proposed three productions for the benefit of more than 26,700 young audience members will be featured as part of their wider schools programs with workshop activities.
The Unicorn Theatre is the UK's leading charity theatre for young audiences aged between 2 to 21. Unicorn brings together professional creative teams to produce theatre, to provide educational and outreach programs in schools, as well as touring nationally and internationally.
