The grant supports the organization of the 12th International Congress of Cretan Studies, which took place in Heraklion in September 2016. The Society of Cretan Historical Studies was established in 1951 with the goal of supporting and promoting Cretan studies in the fields of Archaeology, History, Ethnography, Language and Literature from Early Christian times onwards.
