The Morgan Library & Museum

For a major expansion and renovation of the Library. The extensive renovations, designed by the leading architect Renzo Piano, make it easier for visitors to navigate the Library. Through use of the latest technology, the collections are virtually available to the public; audio guides, plasma screen monitors, interactive computer stations, the Library´s Web site and its Internet-accessible collections catalogue make the holdings come to life. The redesigned space also allows for expanded public programming, including a 280-seat auditorium, an education center, and a naturally-lit Reading Room wired for today´s research and technology needs.
The Morgan Library is one of the few institutions in the United States that collects, exhibits and sponsors research in the areas of illuminated manuscripts, master drawings, rare books, fine bindings, and literary, historical and music manuscripts.
