For supporting two community-led organizations in Burundi and Zambia over three years. The INSP Foundation will help the organizations establish independent street papers in their local communities. Street papers are newspapers and magazines that provide unique employment opportunities and enterprising social programs for the impoverished and the homeless. Vendors keep approximately half of street paper sales and the organization invests the remainder in production costs and social programs. In addition to employment, INSP street papers offer their vendors ongoing support and access to social services, educational activities and training in areas such as literacy, numeracy and information technology.
The INSP Foundation is a registered charity since 2005, which supports and develops over 120 street paper enterprises in 40 countries to create employment and training opportunities for homeless and unemployed people.
