The Frick Collection

Conference

The grant supports The Frick Collection’s January 2015 conference, “El Greco Comes to America: The Discovery of a Modern Old Master”. The conference, which will commemorate the 400th anniversary of El Greco’s death, will bring together international experts on El Greco and will lay the foundation for a publication.

An internationally recognized house museum, library and research center, The Frick Collection was the vision and legacy of Henry Clay Frick, a Pittsburgh industrialist. Since 1935, museum visitors can see Western European paintings, sculpture and decorative arts from the Renaissance to the late nineteenth century.
