The Monastery is located between the villages Vrakades and Amalou on the island of Ikaria. Its construction dates to the 18th century. The complex comprises one main and five additional buildings that contain 10 cells. It used to be inhabited by two nuns, who abandoned it in 1960. The premises contain elements that signify the historic presence of a temple or a settlement. The Monastery also has a wooden temple and several icons dating to the 1820s.
