This grant supports a three-year research study that examines the safety of using certain naturally occurring proteins and physical agents, along with electrical stimulation, to improve the efficacy of the bionic ear; this work is an essential part of the Bionic Ear Institute’s work developing advanced communication aids to improve hearing ability among children and adults with auditory impairments.
