State School of Dance


For reconfiguring a studio to make it into a "Black Box" performance space. The new space allows for rehearsals to take place in a studio fully equipped with modern facilities and equipment, as well as the capacity for an audience. The renovations included installation of electronic, lighting and sound equipment, including 60 removable seats and a ventilation and air conditioning system.

The State School of Dance is an institution of higher education.  Founded in 1937, it operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. The School trains professionals in dance, choreography and dance education and is sought after by highly qualified applicants. In 2000, the School founded the Hellenic Dance Company, which has since performed in important festivals in Greece and abroad and collaborated with many acclaimed choreographers.
