St. Michael/s Home

Operating support and building
For operating support and for purchasing and renovating a new building. Located in Yonkers, New York, the Home was opened in 1958 by his grace the late Archbishop Michael under the name "The Forerunner´s Home." His grace Archbishop Iakovos later renamed the home "St. Michael´s Home".

St. Michael´s Home is the only Greek Orthodox residential adult care home in the United States. It provides high-quality living and support services to 60 residents annually, over half of whom have no income beyond Social Security payments. The Home provides assistance with daily living, laundry, housekeeping services and recreation programs. Geriatric specialists are on-site and various medical specialists visit as needed. St. Michael´s has a waiting list of people who want to move in and it would like to offer more substantial care for those residents who require it. The acquisition of a larger building would address these issues.
