Roma Women Association of Drosero “Elpida”

Program support
To support the operation of the pre-school center attended by Roman children aged 4 to 6.  The center prepares the children to attend Greek Elementary Schools. Apart from Greek Language instruction, the children also receive health and behavioral education, which aids with their inclusion in school.
The Roma Women’s Association of Drosero “Elpida” was founded in 2006 by 20 women who live in Drosero, Xanthi, aiming to create a social environment in which they would be able to express themselves collectively as Roma women with rights and obligations within the Greek Society. The association’s activities are multifaceted, with particular emphasis being placed on the education of children, in order to create opportunities for a better future for them.
