Polka Children's Theatre Ltd.

The grant supports the new Polka Theatre’s Schools & Libraries Reach Program, designed to create a sustainable new model for reaching and engaging the most disadvantaged children and their families to benefit from access to live theatre and learning opportunities. Through this program, audiences have subsidized access to live theatre and to curriculum-linked, tailored learning opportunities through post-show educational workshops in their school. Libraries receive interactive storytelling workshops, free access to monthly World of Stories & Music storytelling sessions and to a Polka Theater production. Established in 1968, the Polka Children's Theatre Ltd. was the first UK theatre built exclusively for children (0-14 years).
