For rebuilding “Ma Maison,” a home in La Tronche (Grenoble) that welcomes the destitute elderly. Nuns first arrived in La Tronche in 1865, and they continued their work at Ma Maison until 1997, when the location was closed for safety reasons. The home has now been demolished and will be entirely rebuilt in compliance with safety standards.
The congregation of Les Petites Soeurs des Pauvres was founded in 1839 in Brittany by Jeanne Jugan and friends with the mission of welcoming and caring for the elderly with limited resources. Today approximately 3,200 Petites Soeurs manage 208 homes spanning five continents and countries.
