Outward Bound Trust

Program support
For support to expand participation by young people and the Greek community in Great Britain. The first Outward Bound School was opened in Aberdovey, Wales and used sea training exercises to develop the character and grit of British seamen at risk in World War II. The organization now helps young people ages 16 to 24 develop the internal fortitude and confidence necessary to thrive by teaching technical and wilderness skills. Outdoor activities such as cutter sailing, canoeing, kayaking and rock climbing encourage young men and women to advance their problem solving, decision-making, communication and leadership capacities. The organization has centers in more than 30 countries in Asia, Africa, Central America, Europe, North America and the Pacific Rim.
