One Acre Fund

Program support
To support the Seed and Fertilizer Permanent Fund, which is used to make loans to farmers in Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi. This working capital fund ensures that thousands more farmers are able to receive loans from One Acre Fund.

Established in 2006, One Acre Fund works to help East African farmers emerge from persistent poverty and hunger by providing them with the tools and loans they need to improve their harvests. One Acre Fund offers a complete “market bundle” – consisting of financing, inputs, technical knowledge, and marketing – that is currently unavailable to farmers. After one growing season, One Acre Fund farmers typically double their income per planted acre.
