Observatorium

Operating support and equipment

For general operating support and multimedia equipment for the Grand Meridien.

The Observatorium program works to support the patrimony and activity of the Observatory of the Côte d’Azur (OCA), one of the most important astronomical establishments in France.  The OCA includes an exceptional natural, architectural, scientific and technical patrimony, including the Observatory of Nice, created in 1881 by Raphaël Bischoffsheim, buildings by the architect Charles Garnier, and the Grand Equatorial, whose movable dome was created by Gustave Eiffel and is unique in the world.

The mission of the Observatorium program is to conserve and promote the OCA and to build a bridge between science and society. Observatorium conducts research, takes part in international research programs, trains new researchers and diffuses scientific knowledge. Observatorium also conducts guided tours, especially for schools, and organizes expositions and special events.
