New York Live Arts

General operating support

The grant supports the artistic creation and community engagement of Real Magic’s Iphigenia, written by Spaulding and Wayne Shorter. Inspired by the ancient Greek playwright Euripides’ tale, Iphigenia is set in modern day with its drama transposed on a Black-American family.

Established in 1982, New York Live Arts is a center for diverse artists devoted to interdisciplinary investigation that transcends barriers between and within communities.
