For the New York Botanical Garden’s educational programs for children. The Children’s Education Programs serve children from pre-kindergarten through high school.  Professional development workshops for educators explain the fundamentals of and how to teach plant science, helping to address the shortage of science educators in New York City.
 
The New York Botanical Garden functions as a museum of plants, an educational institution, and a scientific research organization. The Garden was founded in 1891.  It covers 250 acres and is a National Historic Landmark.
