Municipality of Piraeus

Program support

The grant supports the funding of a feasibility study on the social welfare needs and available programs in Piraeus.

Piraeus, the largest port in Greece, has a population of 163,688 people within its administrative limits, making it the fifth largest municipality in Greece. It is neighboring to some of the poorest areas in Greece, such as Keratsini, Schisto and Perama, where a 70% decline in the industry of shipyards has left many people unemployed and their families without income.
