For the replacement of aluminum frames at two of the organization's departments and the purchase of a school bus for the transportation of children.  “Mitera” - Center for the Protection of the Child of Attica was founded in 1955 and operates three branches; Child Care Service “Anarrotirio Pentelis”, Pedopolis Agios Andreas, and Pedopolis Aghia Varvara. The Center’s mission is to care for children who are in need of the State’s support. The Center currently accommodates 86 children, from newborn to 8 years old. The children are tended to by pediatric nurses, and they are monitored by pediatricians and psychologists on a regular basis. The Center operates adoption and foster care programs. It is responsible for monitoring and protecting 87 children who are placed in foster families across Greece. Foster parents receive advice and financial support from the Center.  The Center also works with pregnant women, providing them with lodging, food and health care as well as, access to support and advice from psychologists and social workers.
