Mediterranean SOS

Program support
For the support of the WaterSave educational program. The Watersave educational program has been running since 2005 and has reached over 35,000 students and 1,000 teachers in hundreds of schools across Greece. It has two axes: (1) A complete educational package for schools, which includes interactive presentations, working material for the class and home, informative leaflets, as well as the website; (2) the expansion of the network of hydro-sustainable schools, which includes the promotion and continued work with best practice cases of schools in issues of water conservation, which promotes the direct involvement and initiation of the students themselves. In parallel to its work with schools, the Watersave program includes close collaboration with and involvement of the local communities and stakeholders with the students.

The Mediterranean SOS Network, founded in 1990, is a leading environmental organization in Greece, working to actively promote and advocate positive treatment of the environment. Through a number of information campaigns, youth group exchanges, school programs, conferences, publications, and volunteer summer camps, Mediterranean SOS reaches children, scholars, professionals, as well as the wider public, while working closely with the national and local government and stakeholders. They specifically deal with energy and climate change, marine and coastal zones, water resources, naturally protected areas, local communities, and urban development.
