The Athens Lyceum of Greek Women is a nonprofit cultural association that was founded in 1911. Its aim is to preserve and revive Greek traditional dances. The Lyceum operates eight regional dance sections across Athens’ metropolitan area. In addition, there are 50 additional Lyceums of Greek Women in Greece and 20 abroad. Their programs encompass a range of classes for children and adults, including music, theory of music, choir, folk songs, drama, educational programs for children and teenagers, courses on Greek language and culture, and folkloric Greek dance classes.
