Founded in 1935 by a group of prominent American and French individuals, the goal of the Lycée Français de New York (LFNY) was to "give instruction similar to that given in a French Lycee, yet arranged so that the persons completing the course of study may continue their higher education either in French or American educational institutions." LFNY provides a full college-preparatory curriculum and graduates receive a United States high school diploma.
