Literary Society ”Parnassos”

The Literary Society "Parnassos" was established in June 1865 by the four sons of the numismatist P. Lambros.
Its first honorary President was the great Greek historian, Professor K. Paparrigopoulos, who was at that time the rector of the University of Athens.The Society is also associated with many renowned Greek writers, including the poet Kostis Palamas. The Society has established a school that offers Greek language courses at no charge to children of immigrants, foreign language instruction and computer courses.  Very low fees are charged to students with limited financial resources. The society also organizes cultural events for the general public and publishes books and a journal.
