Lega Del Filo D/Oro

For partial funding for creating a rehabilitation center in Termini Imerese, Sicily for deaf, blind and multi psycho-sensorial deficient people.

This project is part of an effort to decentralize Lega Del Filo D’Oro (LFO) activities due to an increasing number of requests from all over Italy. An added advantage to local facilities is that they allow patients to avoid separation from their family and environment. The new structure, which will serve the south of the country, will offer 32 youths and adults education, rehabilitation and occupational activities as well as consulting and domiciliary services.

The Lega del Filo d’Oro (LFO) was founded in 1964 by a group of volunteers with the mission of assisting, educating, rehabilitating and socially reintegrating deaf, blind and multi psycho-sensorial deficient people. Since its creation, the LFO has opened six local offices across Italy to offer individualized support to patients and their families, a rehabilitation center in Osimo, and a socio-sanitary residential center in Lesmo.
