For youth conservation activities adjacent to three biosphere reserves. The biosphere reserve is a protected environmental area that, unlike a national park, is inhabited. Communities living within these reserves benefit and gain from the natural resources provided by the environment without negatively impacting it.

The International Sonoran Desert Alliance focuses its conservation efforts in these regions on youth in order to build community-level environmental responsibility, empower young people to take responsibility for natural resources, and strengthen the relationships and partnerships among borderland communities of the Sonoran Desert.
