The grant supports the cataloguing and digitization of the scientific collection of the late Emmanouil Kriaras, a distinguished Greek philologist and lexicographer.
The Institute of Modern Greek Studies was founded in 1959, under the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Thessaloniki, pursuant to the will of Manolis Triandaphyllidis, one of the most renowned representatives of the demotic movement in Greece. The Institute’s sole aim is to promote the scientific study and the diffusion of the Greek language through publications, research projects, conferences/symposiums and the awarding of scholarships.
