Greek Council for Refugees

Program support
To create a one-stop-shop Refugee Reception Service where refugees will have access to information material, counseling, and the general coverage of their needs. The service will focus on information and counseling (simple legal counseling, advice on accommodation, medical care, or other social issues) and the provision of material assistance (relief packages ad hoc). They will be interlinked with, and complementary to, the main and specialized legal and social units of GCR.

The Greek Council for Refugees (GCR) was founded in 1989. The purpose of the organization is to facilitate the integration of asylum seekers, recognized refugees and other vulnerable groups in need of protection (unaccompanied minors, women with children and trafficked persons) by providing social counseling and legal aid. In its 22 years of existence more than 60,000 asylum seekers and refugees have registered with the organization and benefited from its services.
