The objectives are to improve the infrastructure within school buildings, with the renovation of classrooms, the creation of latrine blocks and the drilling of wells. The project also includes the development of extracurricular activities, such as sports or gardening, to make school more attractive and promote the children’s personal development. The project involves local communities and an awareness-raising campaign aimed at promoting enrolment in school, especially for girls, and providing information on healthcare, hygiene and nutrition. The project is run in partnership with the local organization “Enfants du Sahel Burkina Faso” and in collaboration with local representatives of the National Education system.

Enfants & Développement (E&D) is a French NGO founded in 1984 under the name “SOS Enfants du Cambodge” with the objective of helping children who were victims of the genocide in Cambodia. Since its creation, E&D has extended its action across Vietnam, Nepal, and Burkina Faso, as well as France, always with the aim of improving the living conditions of the most underprivileged children in the world, and giving them better prospects for their future. E&D runs all its projects in partnership with local NGOs or governmental services, as well as with targeted communities that are involved in both the project’s design and implementation. In order to achieve long-term self-sustainability, all projects include the training of qualified local personnel.
