Mobile Eye Clinic
For the Mobile Eye Clinic, which offers free eye checkups in remote areas in Greece. The mobile unit is self-sufficient and provides preventive and diagnostic eye care to adults and children.

Funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Mobile Opthalmic Unit missions include Kozani in Northern Greece, Vamvakou, Parnonas and the Municipality of Asopou in Laconia; and the islands: Lesvos, Anafi, Paxoi, Corfu, Ios, Folegandros, Kithira, Astypalaia and Amorgos.

The “IRIS” mission of the Mobile Ophthalmic Unit examined 140 individuals in Astypalaia and 135 individuals in Amorgos. The examinations included taking a medical history and complete ophthalmic evaluations, including measuring refraction (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia) and ophthalmic pressure, biomicroscopy, retinoscopy and special measurements for achromatopsia in children.
