Contemporary Greek Art Institute

The grant supports the establishment and enrichment of a platform that provides access to a large number of archives on the recent history of Greek art.

The Contemporary Greek Art Institute was founded in 2009 by members of the Art Gallery Nees Morfes, as well as art historians and artists. The mission of the Institute is to compile a review of Greek Art from 1945 to the present day, through researching, collecting and preserving archived material, thus providing a tool for the promotion of contemporary Greek Art in Greece and abroad. By organizing open discussions and conferences, the Institute works towards educating the general public with regards to the history of Contemporary Greek Art, while utilizing recent technologies for the creation and enrichment of digital archives related to Greek Art.
