Citymeals-on-Wheels

Program support
For the Friendly Visiting Program in Queens and Manhattan.  The program matches seniors with volunteers who make visits once a week for a minimum of six months. These visits help homebound seniors stay connected to the outside world by providing meal recipients with company, which is nearly as important as receiving food delivery.

Citymeals-on-Wheels’ staff and volunteers provide homebound elderly New Yorkers with nutritionally balanced meals, as well as human companionship. Since 1981, the organization has ensured that this vulnerable population receives meals on weekdays and holidays, to supplement the government-funded weekday meal deliveries.
