Build Africa

Project support in Kenya
For the Education Quality Improvement Project (EQUIP) in the districts of Machakos and Naivasha, Kenya.  The program develops comprehensive infrastructures to prevent overcrowding and to provide better learning and sanitary conditions.

EQUIP also promotes HIV/AIDS awareness and empowers communities to advocate for their rights. A special focus of the organization’s activities is ensuring that all children, particularly girls, have access to the same opportunities.

Established in 1988 and previously known as International Care & Relief, Build Africa’s mission is to help young people in rural areas of Africa escape poverty. The charity currently intervenes in Kenya and Uganda and focuses on two strategic areas, education and entrepreneurship, to enable children to learn in safe, well equipped schools and to help young people develop the skills they need to establish and run profitable farming businesses for themselves and their families.
