For the Clown Care program, which brings clowns to visit pediatric patients in medical facilities around the country. Clown Care successfully uses humor to reduce anxiety, sadness and isolation in pediatric patients and their family members.
The Big Apple Circus was founded in 1977 to introduce American audiences to the art of classical circus. In addition to mounting Big Top tent performances, the Circus extends its reach into the community with programs for people who have little or no access to the performing arts due to illness, economic adversity and/or physical disadvantages.
