2nd Athens Biennale

For partial funding for the 2nd Athens Biennale, titled "Heaven," which took place from June 15th to October 4th, 2009 on the coastline of Faliron in Athens’ southern suburbs. The Biennale presented the works of more than 100 international artists.
 
The Athens Biennale was organized by the Athens Biennale Non-Profit Organization, which was established in November 2005 by Xenia Kalpaktsoglou, Poka-Yio, and Augustine Zenakos. The Biennale was presented under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and the local municipalities of Kallithea and Faliron.


The curators of the 2nd Athens Biennale were D. Papaioannou, choreographer and stage director, and Z. Xagoraris, visual artist. In addition, C. Martinez, Chief Curator of the Museu d’ Art Contemporani de Barcelona, curated a parallel exhibition, while smaller-scale exhibitions and events such as screenings and music presentations also took place within the Biennale’s framework
