Program support
The grant is part of the Mental Health Promotion Program for Children, Adolescents and Young Adults.

For the implementation of 2 two-year programs that will take place in Attica, eleven Cycladic Islands, and Euboea. More specifically, the programs involve the following: (a) intervention programs for adolescents aged 13 and older and their families, through the creation of support groups, which aim at the early detection and proper referral of problematic cases, the support of patients and their families, as well as a first documentation of the issues related to mental health in the social groups in question, and (b) intervention programs for school teachers and instructors, aimed at strengthening of their role and their ability to deal with problematic situations in classrooms, early detection and proper referral of problematic cases to mental health specialists, and building a stronger relationship between the school and the families.

The Association for Regional Development and Mental Health is a non-governmental organization that was established in 1988 and is a legal entity of private law. It is active in the fields of Psycho-social Rehabilitation and Mental Health Promotion throughout Greece. Since 2003, it has been operating two mobile mental health units in the Eastern and Western Cycladic islands, covering a total of 11 islands and a population of 83,500 people.
